So pleased these wonderful loving couple adopted this dog in her senior years. Just look at her now she’s so rejuvenated & happy in every way. I’m too old for energy puppies anymore, got my last one 12 years ago. Wow, the hero's in more than one way. Thank you both for your service and thank you for loving that old lady baby. Seniors are the best! All they ask for is love and patience. My old girl was 14 when I adopted her and she lived to be 17, I just lost her a couple of months ago. When we were ready after the passing of our old dog I saw a local rescue page with a sign around a dog saying “still looking after 7 and a half years. We’re working on year 4 now with her and no looking back. What wonderful people in a lovely story I'm so glad that she's got a good home she deserves it and she's still beautiful God bless. Such a great story. So sad the dog had to live its life in a kennel. So sad. I’d be afraid to adopt an older dog too only because I’d get attached only to have the dog die on me in a couple years and I’d be devastated.

If they need to climb up trees they can, but then again, I’ve never seen a cat in constant pain because of Being de-clawed. I think that if you get it done by a vet with experience and with a passion for these animals, they’ll do it in a way that hurts them the least in terms of long-term health.  A friend told me the story of someone they knew who had to make a decision whether or not to declaw their cat or give them antibiotics for the rest of their cat's life because it had some kind of

The store clerk said I should consider declawing as she did on her cat. I said no it's very cruel and damaging operation on cats. Her response was "oh I found a very good vet to do it for mine". Amputation is amputation no matter how expensive your vets charge you.  Andrea McHugh well it's still legal in many parts of North America. I didn't report it and I certainly should have done more to let her know why it's so inappropriate. That day I was just shocked and left without confronting her further.  Cats have claws and they will scratch if you can't handle that they don't get a cat.
