All of you guys seem so worried about little scratches or scratches on your furniture. Newsflash if you weren't a shitty trainer they wouldn't do either. Get scratch posts and pet stores have a spray that leads them away from scratching on furniture and theres catnip and catnip sprays you can put on their scratch posts. And my cats even when they scratch me it rarely even bleeds more than a drop. Plant these save the bees crew sweatshirt. I didn't know anything about cats when our cat wandered in to adopt us. When I took him to our dog's vet to get declawed, he refused to do it and educated me about why he would not do this procedure. I was so thankful that he was such a great vet and that I didn't do this to our sweet kitty. Besides being cruel, he said that if the cat ever got outside, he'd have no way to defend himself. Plant these save the bees crew sweatshirt. However, my old cat was declawed when we got him from the shelter (we didn't have a choice) and he was an inside/outside cat and killed many little critters and defended the house from various other cats. They might have a disadvantage but they are not helpless without them.


Good! I rescued my kitty and her declawed but I found out he was declawed improperly and the claws have grown back in the wrong direction and cause him pain. Now I have to get him re-declawed so he isnt in pain. I have 5 cats, all indoor, they all have their claws, guess what else they have? Cat trees, climbers, scratch pads and wood. They never scratch my furniture or people. Don't get cats if you don't want claws. All we had to do was yell at my cat a few times and he learned the bed and coach arent for scratching. The only time I've ever had a problem with cats scratching furniture was at my dad's house because they didn't do anything to stop the cat or offer him an alternative. They let him use the coach as a scratching post.
