Jennifer Hoyt thank you for adopting Pirate. We need more ppl like u in this world. I also rescued an older smaller dog from euthanasia about 4 yrs ago. The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear shirt. Traci Forsythe, I call all dogs pups. I believe Pirate was surrendered at 2 years old. At that time I was part of a volunteer group in middle school when I first met her. The shelter was once located behind the school in a warehouse before moving to Barbers Point then they are now located In Wahiawa, which is central Oahu. I have seen Pirate at all three locations before she was adopted. I adopted another senior dog as Pirate was sadly not a good fit for my family. Brad is another dog I hope finds another home. A previous senior dog before them was Gracie and she was adopted in 2015. The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear shirt. If only people could see how wonderful senior dogs are. We adopted Taylor when he was 12years old. Sadly we only had him a year when he died of undetected cancer. In that year he gave us such love and joy. We still miss him


Soo sad and such a great outcome! Older dogs are seriously the best! The white faces are precious! Beautiful people made Pirates dreams come true. Hope for many more new memories to come!  I promise you I'm going to adopt a senior dog once my two old doggos pass (if they ever pass, I'm planning on them living forever) but after them, I'm saving these guys. The best three years of life were the 3yrs I had my senior rescue....he was phenomenal. He taught me life isn’t about me and to slow down. Not to mention how to love

If they need to climb up trees they can, but then again, I’ve never seen a cat in constant pain because of Being de-clawed. I think that if you get it done by a vet with experience and with a passion for these animals, they’ll do it in a way that hurts them the least in terms of long-term health.  A friend told me the story of someone they knew who had to make a decision whether or not to declaw their cat or give them antibiotics for the rest of their cat's life because it had some kind of

Amputation is amputation no matter how expensive your vets charge you.  Andrea McHugh well it's still legal in many parts of North America. I didn't report it and I certainly should have done more to let her know why it's so inappropriate. That day I was just shocked and left without confronting her further.  Cats have claws and they will scratch if you can't handle that they don't get a cat.
