We had her declawed and she is still our family pet still alive still healthy and very happy!!! So yeah declaw your cat instead of getting rid of it or possibly putting it in the shelter where It may never have a home again. I see so many comments bitching you out but I understand your position. My mom had a dog for years before she had me and when I came around Heidi did not like that. She would piss and poop in my room and nip at me when I tried to use the couch as leverage to walk. She tried everything and ended up having to give her to a new home. Cats don’t seek out children to scratch them... maybe you should have made a better effort to keep your child away from that cat.
