He felt threatened like your baby was "invading his turf". If they can't scratch they bite, the cat would have bitten the baby and you would have given up again. I explained to him it couldn't be any worse then a baby boy getting circumcised. Just like a baby boys parents, we had to do what we felt was right for him. A left without claws is better than no life at all. Our kitten came home sleepy but he didn't have any problems at all. I mean your child, especially at that age shouldn’t be around an animal period. Because animals don’t take well to humans and the cat probably didn’t take well to your child because children at that age are clumsy and can even hurt an animal without realizing it.

You could've got the cat plenty of things to play with, claw on, could've cut its nails, could've put claw caps on it. But no you sent it to the shelter to die, and now you say you would've done a fucked up procedure.
