My parents used to get all of our cats declawed until one was permanently injured. After that, they never did it again. To all who justify and support and choose to remain uneducated about the cruelty of declawing, about the life-altering consequences it has for cats, about the chronic pain they are likely to experience, about the fact that is more like de-toeing, about all the alternatives that exist to avoid it, about the fact that doctors who perform it are violating their medical oath, to all of you I wish you receive the same pain back but ten times over. May you have a life of chronic pain, since you are good with others experiencing it. Both my cats are declawed. It was either that or they would have to be given away. I took the option knowing they would be taken care of. Neither of them has any behavioral or health problems.

If they need to climb up trees they can, but then again, I’ve never seen a cat in constant pain because of Being de-clawed.
