I don't think it's glorifying obesity as much as letting obese people know they are still worthy and loved people regardless of their size. Most of these people feel insecure and worthless, and use food to combat those feelings, making the issue worse. If you can first learn to love yourself as a person and have some confidence, then it's much more likely you'll be able to make healthier choices for yourself. Love what you did for that little guy. Dachshunds are such loving dogs, but they do have a tendency to get overweight because they LOVE to eat, and they will eat and eat and eat if you don't give them a cut-off. I had one that ate one time till he passed out (he got into a 20-lb. bag of food when I wasn't home). I found him passed out, upside down, inside the bag of food, with his back feet sticking out. I thought he had eaten himself to death! How in the freakin' world can this happen to a dog? Helping him lose that weight probably bought him many more years of life. Bless you.
