I'm No Cactus Expert But I Know A Prick When I See One Shirt

This old cat was a very frightened stray when caught, but not a true feral. Feral cats never become friendly like this cat, but, frightened and abused strays who were handled by humans as a small kitten, will adjust again. I have had the experience more than once (my rescued cats which had to be trapped they were so scared of humans, but are now loving lap cats - thought were feral, but were not), and the one true feral who I trapped and brought inside, and who never let me get close. I'm No Cactus Expert But I Know A Prick When I See One Shirt. My cat was a feral cat! I found her in Las Vegas on a road trip and when someone in the complex that I found her in told me she had a kitty friend, but the kitty friend got poisoned, I knew I needed to take her home. She is THE best cat. Has never bitten me or scratched me. She begs like nobody’s business but she’s an angel. The tip of her ear is gone because she was neutered, and she’s got a couple little fight wounds on her ears. Had a similar experience with my old guy. Had him since a kitten but we had always had a second cat. Sadly the other cat passed on and he got super sick and lethargic. Then I adopted to feral kittens from outside and he perked right back up again. 
Cats need companionship.

The part about teaching the kittens how hard to bite really rings a bell for me. I have a cat who we found orphaned at the age of about 3 weeks. He's a funny and friendly cat, but he bites much too hard, and I always suspected it was because he wasn't with his mom and littermates long enough to learn biting etiquette. My friend had a pet rescue and one tom that was there 2 years already decided one day I belonged to him. But he raised several litters of kittens, chicks, rabbits, and puppies. But when we decided to get a dog too, my husband (no I don't like cats) took the cat with him to pick out the puppy HE wanted. My cat, who was about 7 by then, raised that little guy. My big old 30 lb. short haired Bengal loved that little puppy, even when he got as big as him. He left us at 15, and my dog still looks for him. Miss you Mr. Parker

If they need to climb up trees they can, but then again, I’ve never seen a cat in constant pain because of Being de-clawed. I think that if you get it done by a vet with experience and with a passion for these animals, they’ll do it in a way that hurts them the least in terms of long-term health.  A friend told me the story of someone they knew who had to make a decision whether or not to declaw their cat or give them antibiotics for the rest of their cat's life because it had some kind of
