This is straight-up animal abuse on behalf of the previous owners. No dog or cat chooses to be obese - they rely on us for food and exercise. So glad this pup found a dedicated human to love him and help him get healthy. I wish I could help all dogs like this. I'm glad you had the heart of gold and the money, time and space to take a chance on him. And forever change his life. I really wanna ask her tips on helping my senior dachshund lose weight, everything I've tried has made her sick and she can barely walk around the block. What a wonderful story. She's 17lbs but I know she's supposed to be smaller. He reminds me so much of the doxie that I had. I couldn’t imagine him ever being over 10 lbs let alone close to 100. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor in August and one of our dogs passed 2 weeks ago. He loves animals and it was so hard breaking the news to him after he had only been home a week. Bless her and her friends that made this happen!  I hope one day you give your heart to someone and they will hold it tight as if it's their own. I hope one day you wake up and have something or someone to live for. I hope one day you can go to bed smiling without a worry in the world. I hope one day the battle is over and you've won. Hi! Whoever is reading this, I understand how rough things are right now. I just want to let you know that things will get better, I promise. Keep holding on just a little bit longer. If they need to climb up trees they can, but then again, I’ve never seen a cat in constant pain because of Being de-clawed. The store clerk said I should consider declawing as she did on her cat. I said no it's very cruel and damaging operation on cats. Her response was "oh I found a very good vet to do it for mine". Amputation is amputation no matter how expensive your vets charge you.  Andrea McHugh well it's still legal in many parts of North America. I didn't report it and I certainly should have done more to let her know why it's so inappropriate. That day I was just shocked and left without confronting her further.  Cats have claws and they will scratch if you can't handle that they don't get a cat.
