Southeast Ohio, home of Ohio University. It's a town of about 25,000 residents and about 20,000 students. Sort of smack dab in the southeast quadrant of the state. Also, consider Hocking Hills. Lots of great nature and hikes there. If you go in the fall and you're into it Ohio University is in Athens and they're known for their Halloween parties.
