Wow, I have been lurking in this thread for a few weeks and seeing posts like this makes me seriously want to take the leap and gain my life back. I feel my body is failing me and I am failing it. My back always hurts, insane heartburn, and overall just feel crummy. Seeing this post motivates me to take the leap and do this IF + Keto regiment, do you have any tips, tricks, videos, or books you recommend checking out before dive in? My Name Is Peter Peter I'm With Pumpkin Shirt. I was the exact same way. I started the intermittent fasting first and then started cutting out carbs. Honestly just cutting out eating in the evening and snacking late at night helped me feel way, way better in the mornings. I started walking a lot more and it helped my back and knees so much. As far as keto, the best way to start is by looking at the added sugar in what you're eating. You'd be surprised how much extra sugar they put into crap.
I try to stay under 40g of carbs a day. I think in general, 20g is what the goal is when you're on very strict keto. But even just cutting out bread, soda, candy/sweets, and potatoes helped me out so much. Hope this helps! I'm sure you've read all the basics on the diet itself, so the best advice other than diet is to not get discouraged. You're gonna mess up. You're gonna have cheat days. You're gonna be weak and say "fuck it, I'll have pizza". Just don't let that keep you off track.
